Letter to the Antioch Church of Christ from the Elders,

In Paul's first letter to the church at Thessalonica, he begins with the following greeting:

"Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night, you're in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special." (I Thessalonians 1:2-4; MSG).
Paul's message to the Thessalonians is the same message for us today. "God loves us very much and has put His hand on us for something special." Paul yearned to visit the church he established during his second missionary journey (Acts 17:1-4). Unfortunately, he was unable to visit them, so he sent Timothy to "cheer them on so they wouldn’t be discouraged by these hard times." (I Thessalonians 3:1-2).
Paul's encouragement to the Thessalonians is applicable for us during this time of physical separation. Do not be discouraged but continue to pray for us as we pray for you. We need God's wisdom as we begin to discuss the best direction for our future gatherings. For now, our plan is to continue meeting together virtually with worship services recorded and posted to Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as permitted.
We want to thank Andrew for his work in organizing, recording, and publishing our worship services each week. We also want to thank Whit for his willingness to preach, Jose for his work with our Hispanic brothers and sisters, Stacy for creating worship content for our children and all the staff for their patience and work during this time. We love each of you and pray for your physical and spiritual health.
Blessings,
The Antioch Elders

UPDATE: 4-1-2020

Our shepherds have now decided to continue “online” services only through the end of April.  The decision was not easy as they weighed heavily the federal and state government’s decision to “shelter at home” through April 30th.  As that time gets near, they will re-evaluate.
